Before installing an app, check what access it asks for
An app permission should make sense for the feature you are using. A short review helps you notice when a request is broader than expected, without assuming every permission is automatically malicious.
Start with the source
Use the official app distribution route and verify the developer. Read the privacy information and recent support details. A high rating alone is not a full assessment of how the app handles data.
Review the request in context
A camera feature may need camera access, while an unrelated background request deserves a closer look. Use limited permissions where the operating system offers them and they meet your needs. Do not grant access simply to dismiss a prompt you have not read.
Revisit old choices
Open the device's permission settings and review apps you no longer use. Remove unnecessary access or uninstall the app through the normal process. Back up anything important first if deleting the app also deletes local data. Follow your device maker's current instructions because menus change. The habit is understanding why access is needed and keeping the decision reversible where possible.
